Seller help, from first steps to a thriving store

Find practical answers about setting up your store, helping customers discover products, handling orders, and using Shopitt tools.

Get your store ready

How do I get my store ready from zero?

Start with the essentials. You can add advanced settings and polish the storefront later.

  1. In your admin, open Settings → Contact & Social and add the WhatsApp number where you want to receive customer messages.
  2. Create a category such as Electronics, Phones, Chargers, or Tools. Every product needs at least one category to save.
  3. Add a product with a clear name, price, description, image, category, public visibility, and accurate stock.
  4. Open your storefront and test the product, cart, and WhatsApp order flow as a customer.
  5. Copy your store link from Settings → Store URL and share it with customers.

What customers experience: Customers can browse public products, add available items to their cart, and send an order request through WhatsApp.

How do I share my store link?

Your store has a public link that customers can open without signing in.

  1. Open Settings → Store URL in your admin.
  2. Use Copy or Share to get your link.
  3. Send it through WhatsApp, social media, or other channels where your customers find you.
  4. Choose your URL carefully; changing it later can make previously shared links stop working.

What customers experience: Customers open your storefront and can browse your public products and pages.

Products, categories, and collections

What should I include when adding a product?

Clear, accurate product information helps shoppers decide and reduces back-and-forth questions.

  1. Add a recognizable name, price above zero, useful description, and at least one image.
  2. Choose one or more categories. Categories describe the product type, such as Phones, Chargers, or Power Tools.
  3. Set the product to Public and keep its stock quantity and In Stock status accurate.
  4. Optionally assign collections, add tags or videos, or mark the product Featured.

What customers experience: Public products appear in your storefront. Private products remain in admin; out-of-stock products cannot be ordered.

What is the difference between categories and collections?

Categories identify what a product is; collections group products for a broader purpose or promotion.

  1. Use categories for product types, such as Phones, Chargers, or Tools. Each product needs at least one.
  2. Create optional collections such as New Arrivals, Home Improvement, or Sale in Settings.
  3. Assign collections to products. Customers can use collection chips and category filters on the Products page.

What customers experience: For example, a drill can be in the Power Tools category and the Home Improvement collection.

How can I make a page that automatically promotes a collection?

A filtered custom page updates automatically as you assign products to the selected collection.

  1. In Settings → Collections, create and save a collection such as Sale or New Arrivals.
  2. Edit each product you want to promote and assign it to that collection.
  3. In Pages, create a page, choose Filter mode, and select the collection. Add a title and URL slug, then make the page visible. You can also show it in your navigation.
  4. Preview the page. It will show public, in-stock products that match the selected collection.

What customers experience: You do not need to hand-pick products or maintain the page list as the collection changes.

Variants and customer options

How do product options like phone storage or charger type work?

Use variants when one product has selectable options such as storage, color, size, material, connector, or another custom option.

  1. In the product form, enable Has Variants.
  2. Choose an option type or choose Other and enter your own label.
  3. Add each option value, its available stock, and an optional price difference from the base product price.
  4. Save the product. Customers choose available options before adding it to their cart.

What customers experience: Each option value has its own stock and can add to the base price. If every combination needs separate stock (for example, each color-and-storage combination), create a separate product for each combination.

Announcements and storefront pages

How do I announce a sale and link customers to its collection page?

Use an announcement banner to bring attention to a filtered page made from a collection.

  1. Create and save a collection in Settings → Collections, then assign the sale products to it.
  2. Create a visible Filter-mode page in Pages and select that collection. Note the page URL slug.
  3. In Settings → Announcement Banner, turn on Show Banner and write a short announcement.
  4. Set the banner link to /your-store-slug/pages/your-page-slug, replacing both slugs with your actual store and page slugs. You can also paste the full store page URL.
  5. Visit your storefront and test the banner link.

What customers experience: Customers see the announcement and can open a page that automatically shows the matching public, in-stock products.

What can I create under Pages?

Custom pages can share information or present selected products.

  1. Choose Filter mode to show products matching selected categories and/or collections.
  2. Choose Hand-picked mode to select specific public products and control their order.
  3. Use a text page for information such as About, delivery details, or store policies.
  4. Set the page visibility and choose whether to include it in your storefront navigation.

What customers experience: Customers can open visible pages from your store. A page can also be the destination of your announcement banner.

Orders, payments, and stock

What happens when a customer checks out?

Shopitt records an order request and opens a prepared WhatsApp message; it does not collect card payments.

  1. The customer adds available products to the cart and enters their name and phone number.
  2. Shopitt saves the request in your Orders inbox and opens a prepared WhatsApp message on the customer’s device.
  3. The customer must send that message in WhatsApp for you to receive the conversation.
  4. Review the request in Orders. Accepting it moves it into the order list and reduces the related stock.
  5. Contact the customer to confirm the order, payment, and delivery arrangements.

What customers experience: Payment and delivery are arranged directly between you and the customer.

How do I keep availability accurate?

Maintain stock levels so shoppers do not try to order products you cannot supply.

  1. Edit a product and update its stock quantity and In Stock status.
  2. For products with variants, set the stock for each option value.
  3. In Settings → Low Stock Alerts, choose when the dashboard warns you and when customers see a low-stock label.
  4. Use Public/Private visibility to hide a product completely, for example while preparing its listing.

What customers experience: Unavailable products cannot be added to the cart. Accepting a new order reduces the related stock automatically.

Languages and store presentation

How do I choose the language and currency?

The language your customers see is separate from the language you use in admin.

  1. Open Settings → Appearance.
  2. Choose the currency for product prices.
  3. Choose the Storefront Language for customers and the Admin Language for your dashboard.
  4. Save and review your storefront.

What customers experience: Customers see storefront interface text in the selected language and product prices in the selected currency.

How can I improve my storefront as my business grows?

Optional tools can help shoppers trust your business and find products more easily.

  1. Update your store name, tagline, and description in Settings → Store Information.
  2. Use Featured products, tags, videos, and collections to improve browsing.
  3. Add social profiles, location details, and custom pages with information customers need.
  4. Use Settings to customize your WhatsApp greeting, closing message, and announcement banner.
  5. Preview changes on desktop and mobile.

What customers experience: These enhancements improve the customer experience but are not required to publish your first product.
